Light of the world
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. -John 1:1-5
When you think about "light" what comes to mind? Maybe the lamp beside you or the sun? We think about things we can see and feel. But, have you ever thought about the fact that the first thing God said when creating the world was, "Let there be light" yet, He didn't create the sun until day four? How often we forget that God alone is the Light. We forget His power and most days we lose sight of who He is. He has been the Light since before the beginning of time. It is Him alone that overcomes darkness. It's because of the Light that we have hope through every situation. He lights our path, convicts us when we wander, speaks truth in our darkness, gives hope in our brokenness, and uses us as His hands and feet to bring glory to His name. We can work and strive to be the best and have the most, but all of that would mean nothing without Jesus. He is our anchor in every season. He is our Redeemer. He is our healer. He restores, renews, and protects. As we go through Holy Week and remember Passover, the crucifixion of Jesus, and His Resurrection do not forget that He is the Light of the world. Do not forget that there is Light in your life today. No matter how dark your day looks focus on the Light. Praise until you see your breakthrough. And remember nothing is impossible with God. We pray that you would have a fresh revelation of the power and hope of the Light of the world. May you feel His face shine upon you this week!
